Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand believes Arsenal defender William Saliba has the potential to become the best centre-back in the world.
The France international has been a resilient presence at the Gunners’ back, helping them return to the forefront of the Premier League, and Ferdinand has been full of praise for Saliba ยูฟ่าเบท, who has the ability to become the world’s best defender.
“I think he (Saliba) will become the best defender in the world,” Ferdinand told Rio Ferdinand Presents. “I think he will be the best defender in the world when Virgil van Dijk retires.”
“As soon as it happens, maybe within a year, maybe three years, depending on when, I don’t see anyone replacing him.”
“Saliba is clean, confident, classy, strong, everything you want in a centre-back and it’s great to see another young centre-back coming through in the Premier League.”
“He’s great in defence, and if you want to be a top team, you need to have someone in defence, at least one person who can go one-on-one with anybody on the pitch.”
